HELPING A BUTTERPHANT

“What the hack is that?” Olivia asked herself. She was playing on the field when something strange caught her eyes. She kneeled down for a closer look. There… she saw a mouse-sized elephant that was munching on the grass! Not only that, but the elephant had butterfly wings instead of ears!! Olivia mumbled, “I must be seeing things, but in case I am not, I should call this creature a butterphant, ’cause it is a butterfly-elephant.” Suddely the butterphant cried, “Please help me!”

Olivia was shocked. Seeing a butterphant was so surprising, and now it could talk! This was so astounding even for Olivia, who had such creative imaginations! It seemed that the Butterphant was startled by the sudden silence. Olivia noticed and asked Roger to explain. Roger spoke up and said, “My name is Roger. I was eating breakfast when suddenly, POOF! I turned into this! Could you please help me?”

Of course I will help you. But first tell me what you were eating for breakfast,” replied Olivia. Roger told her that first, he drank some water, and then ate some cherries. “I have never eaten them so I got curious,” he clarified. Wait a minute. That reminded Olivia something. She had once went to a zoo and saw an elephant. It was Roger! He escaped that day and never returned. The zookeeper had told Olivia that Roger was allergic to cherries but they didn’t know what the allergic reactions were and Olivia thought that this was it! She told that to Roger.

“So i-is there a cu-cure or do I-I have to stay like th-this f-forever?” Roger questioned fearfully. Olivia scrunched up her face to try to remember. Then, with a flashlight in her brain, she remembered that the cure was an orange! She fetched an orange from her lunchbox and fed it to Roger. BOOM! He was back to normal! Olivia cheered. But behind Roger, Olivia saw a cat-sized butterfly with a dog tail and bunny ears. “OH, NO!” Olivia groaned.
